We understand that things change at short notice and we always try to be flexible where possible. However, if an appointment is cancelled and not rescheduled within 24 hours, a charge of 75% of the booked consultation fee applies.
Most UK health insurance policies do not cover GP consultation fees, though some do cover specialist fees for referrals and investigations such as blood tests. We advise you to check with your insurer before booking. International health insurance policies often do cover appointments with us.
These medications are appropriate for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above alongside a weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or high cholesterol.
They may not be suitable if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2 (multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2), are pregnant or breastfeeding, have severe gastrointestinal conditions, or have certain pancreatic conditions. Dr Dan will review your full medical history before prescribing.
At The Wright Practice, weight management is not a prescription and a goodbye. It is a monitored programme with regular check-ins, nutritional support, and honest conversations about progress, side effects, and adjustments.
The programme includes: an initial consultation covering your medical history, weight history, lifestyle, and goals; instruction on injection technique; a personalised nutrition plan; exercise and movement guidance; quarterly reviews with Dr Dan or Dr Susan; ongoing support by phone and email; and monthly medication delivery.
A weight loss membership is available at £95 per month (excluding medication and initial consultation), with a minimum commitment of three months.
The most common side effects are nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, and abdominal discomfort. These are most pronounced during the early dose-escalation phase and typically improve as the body adjusts. Eating smaller meals and avoiding very fatty foods can help.
Less common but more serious side effects include pancreatitis and gallbladder problems. Dr Dan will discuss these with you before starting treatment and will monitor for any concerns during the programme. Semaglutide and tirzepatide have been used in clinical trials and clinical practice for over a decade and both are well-studied, licensed medications.
The initial weight loss consultation is £195. Wegovy injections start from £210 per monthly pen and Mounjaro from £250 per monthly pen. A weight loss membership at £95 per month covers ongoing medical support, nutritional guidance, and regular check-ins, with medication charged separately. Full pricing is on the pricing page.
