Why It Is Hard to Stop Smoking

We are all aware of the risks of smoking, including heart and lung diseases, cancer, poor circulation and reduced life expectancy. These are only a few of the health risks related to smoking.

Common Quit Methods

The good thing is, there are several different methods available that can help you to quit smoking, such as:

  • Nicotine patches and gum
  • E-cigarettes
  • Going cold turkey

However, these methods don’t always tend to be super effective.

Prescription Treatments

There are prescription medicines available that have proven to help when trying to quit and throw that habit away. These medicines can often be more effective because they don’t contain any nicotine. The medication proceeds to block the action of any nicotine getting to the brain – which then helps to reduce any cravings & withdrawal symptoms that are related to giving up smoking.

If you really want to quit– please do book a face-to-face, telephone or video appointment with Dr Dan or Dr Sara who can help & support you to finally give it up.
